The Dead Presidents lounge custom tattoo shop and Art Gallery is proud to present "Make Art Not War," a collaborative antiwar art collection. The Dead Presidents Lounge is located at 1092 Madison Ave. Albany NY 12208.


The exhibit runs from March 20 thru April 19, 2010. The opening reception is March 20, 2010 8PM. The Dead Presidents Lounge is open Monday - Saturday 12 pm - 8pm.

"Make Art Not War” is a gathering of 17+ local and like minded artists. Politically fueled by war and economic hardship these artists have choose to focus their attention on making art instead of war, and this show highlights them for doing so.



There will be a special live performance by Deep Children all night.



This date is significant in history for the following reasons:

• March 2002 Operation Anaconda begins in Afghanistan, Largest ground assault for US since Vietnam.
• Bush declares war on Iraq March 19 2003, First missile strike.
• March 2005 US troop deaths hit 1500.
• March 2008 at least 4000 members of US military killed.
• March 2010 Afghanistan officially becomes the longest conflict in U.S. history.

The Foundry Needs Your Help! .....To Win $50k Grant from Pepsi Refresh Project

The Foundry for Art Design and Culture has applied for $50k from the Pepsi Refresh Project. Voting opened today and we are ranked 25th in the $50k category out of 204....not bad, but not good enough. They award only the top 10, so we desperately need your help.

We are asking our friends and supporters to vote once per day starting today through Feb 28 at http://www.refresheverything.com/thefoundry. We are listed in the $50k category. I've been doing it allllll wrong

I had my first real drawing class today. My hand is still black with charcoal dust and hurts. I am happy!



I have been doing things all wrong. At this point I am embarassed of my art. I am so excited I will be learning the REAL way.



This weekend we are going to the MoMA for the Tim Burton exhibit. I am SO psyched!
