The Dead Presidents lounge custom tattoo shop and Art Gallery is proud to present "Make Art Not War," a collaborative antiwar art collection. The Dead Presidents Lounge is located at 1092 Madison Ave. Albany NY 12208.

The exhibit runs from March 20 thru April 19, 2010. The opening reception is March 20, 2010 8PM. The Dead Presidents Lounge is open Monday - Saturday 12 pm - 8pm.

"Make Art Not War” is a gathering of 17+ local and like minded artists. Politically fueled by war and economic hardship these artists have choose to focus their attention on making art instead of war, and this show highlights them for doing so.

There will be a special live performance by Deep Children all night.

This date is significant in history for the following reasons:

• March 2002 Operation Anaconda begins in Afghanistan, Largest ground assault for US since Vietnam.
• Bush declares war on Iraq March 19 2003, First missile strike.
• March 2005 US troop deaths hit 1500.
• March 2008 at least 4000 members of US military killed.
• March 2010 Afghanistan officially becomes the longest conflict in U.S. history.

The Foundry Needs Your Help! .....To Win $50k Grant from Pepsi Refresh Project

The Foundry for Art Design and Culture has applied for $50k from the Pepsi Refresh Project. Voting opened today and we are ranked 25th in the $50k category out of 204....not bad, but not good enough. They award only the top 10, so we desperately need your help.

I've been doing it allllll wrong

I had my first real drawing class today. My hand is still black with charcoal dust and hurts. I am happy!



I have been doing things all wrong. At this point I am embarassed of my art. I am so excited I will be learning the REAL way.



This weekend we are going to the MoMA for the Tim Burton exhibit. I am SO psyched!

Inspired by my new Art History Education, I'm pretty happy with it.

Being 40, I have been entertaining my newly stimulated brain with some mortality-type internal convos lately.


I saw this wonderful artist, Richard Wright, with his gorgeous gold leaf wall painting after he was featured in guardian.uk for winning the £25,000 Turner Prize Dec. 6th. The fact that his gorgeous, luminous gold leaf painting is so.... mortal, really struck a nerve in me (I have left many a mural in my wake and sometimes miss them like old friends).

Louvre on Strike!

This is appalling...
The LOUVRE! C'mon, now, this is ridiculous..

The most visited museum in the world, with 8.5 million visitors in 2008, the Louvre offers clout to the strikers, alongside international media coverage. And it gives the French government, which thought it could force one more so-called reform on yet another set of French workers, cause for concern. This time, the government is facing a strike which could impact massively on the economy. With France being the No 1 tourist destination in the world, and Paris the most visited capital city with 16 million visitors in 2008, the closure of landmarks such as the Louvre, Musée d'Orsay, the Arc of Triumph, Notre Dame and the Musée Rodin, in the run-up to the Christmas holiday could further harm the country's image. The Picasso Museum in Vallauris and the ramparts in Carcassonne and Aigues-Mortes, among many other attractions in provincial France, are also closed to the public."

My kids like to get me to perform. I have been their favorite entertainer since they were little. So of course I ended up in this photo yesterday, while putting up our tree... The outfit is my fault, but otherwise I was coerced....

Two Manga Holiday cards with envelopes

Set of two Holiday cards made with my original artwork from my art cards, "Crystal" and "A Christmas Wish." Images are about 3.5 x 5 inches. Each has its own envelope.These cards are blank inside and one doesn't say "Christmas", so could be used for many seasonal greetings.

Alice in Wonderland print set in Vintage hinged frame

This is a signed set of prints from my first two sold items.

These were drawings I had done on an old discarded copy of Alice in Wonderland over 60 years old. The pages were pinkish and yellowed and the archival inks have preserved their splendor for a century more.

I found a great hinged brassy vintage frame with nice thick glass that pairs these two happily to nestle in your favorite niche.

"Confessions of a Scribbler" Friday, October 30, 2009

Christina Stott's solo show "Confessions of a Scribbler" opens at Artcentric Gift Gallery on Friday October 30th 2009. Opening reception begins at 5pm.

This exhibit runs through November 21, 2009. The Artcentric Gift Gallery is located at 95 4th St Troy, NY 12180. Hours of operation – Monday 5-8, closed Tuesday, Wed-Fri 11-5pm, Sat 11-4, Sun 11-3.

“Confessions of a Scribbler” is a series of drawings and paintings all created within the last two years- an introspective which explores the use of layers; using stencils, spray paint, and simple drawing techniques.
